Every cent donated reaches the campaign — Turikumwe charges donors no platform fee. Donors cover only their mobile-money operator's standard transaction fee, shown before they confirm. A flat 2% service fee is deducted only when the creator withdraws — the lowest advertised rate in the category. No subscription. No setup fee. No locked tiers. Optional donor tips are exactly that — optional.

2% is a real number — it's what it actually costs to run a human-reviewed, payment-regulated, fraud-resistant platform in Rwanda. Here's roughly where it goes on a typical $40 withdrawal:

A quick, honest note on donor tips.
During checkout we ask donors whether they'd like to add an optional tip on top of their donation (default 3%, adjustable down to zero in one tap). The campaign always receives 100% of your donation — the 2% service fee comes out of the creator's withdrawal, not yours.
If you'd rather skip the tip, slide it to zero. No guilt, no friction. We kept the service fee at a flat 2% on withdrawal so tips could remain genuinely optional rather than the business model.

Pricing FAQ
Is there a fee to start a campaign?
No. Creating and running a campaign is free. The 2% service fee is only deducted when the creator withdraws — never from donations as they arrive.
What happens if a donor disputes their donation?
If the payment provider refunds the donation, we automatically reverse the campaign's recorded amount. No service fee is charged on refunded donations since none was deducted in the first place.
Do diaspora donors pay extra for currency conversion?
No spread from us. We show donors the mid-market exchange rate before they confirm. Donors never pay a platform fee to Turikumwe — the only charge on top of a donation is the mobile-money operator's standard transaction fee, shown before they confirm.
What about payment provider fees? Are those on top?
The campaign is always credited the full donation amount. On mobile money, the donor covers the operator's standard transaction fee on top of their donation (and any optional tip), shown before they confirm — Turikumwe adds nothing. On the creator's side, the 2% service fee plus a small flat mobile-money payout fee are deducted at withdrawal; everything else (T&S, infrastructure) is covered by that 2%.
Can institutions get lower fees?
